Biography
Victoria Lowerson Bredow (she/her) is a co-director and co-founder of the Community-based Research Initiative at the Newkirk Center for Science & Society at UC Irvine. Lowerson Bredow focuses on conducting action oriented research that centers community expertise in the creation of policy-relevant research and practice in pursuit of social and environmental justice. She has worked as practitioner and academic on various social and environmental justice issues using a wide range of methodologies. Lowerson Bredow received her PhD in Planning, Policy, and Design in the School of Social Ecology at UC Irvine and a MPH focused on Urbanism and the Built Environment from Columbia University.
