Michael Kilburn holds an MA (1998) and PhD (2001) in Interdisciplinary Studies from Emory University's Graduate Institute of the Liberal Arts (ILA). He is currently a Professor of Politics and International Studies at Endicott College in Beverly MA. His main research focus is on the intersectionality of politics, culture, history and theory, particularly in moments of transition and crisis, with case studies in Eastern Europe, human rights, oral history and trauma. Combined with his interest in human and physical geography, which he has taught for 15 years, the Anthropocene represents the nexus of systems, scale and interdisciplinarity.
