I am an Associate Professor in the Isik University Humanities and Social Sciences Department. I did my PhD in Science and Technology Studies from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and my postdoctoral fellowship at the Thompson Writing Program at Duke University. My research interests are gender, science & technology relations with a focus on biomedical technologies and medicalization. I published on topics such as the medicalization of menopause in Turkey, perceptions of osteoporosis and risk in menopause, discourses of normal and abnormal menstruation, andropause and male aging, and functional foods and medicalization.
