Notes | 'In this paper, I did a cultural critique of the United State Nuclear Regulatory Commission\'s nuclear safety culture and trace the indigenous and non-indigenous critique of NRC\'s centralized nuclear waste management. I have focused on the Indian Point Energy Center\'s (NY) decommissioning debates and the Hudson. This paper is also an intervention in the analysis of nuclear politics as it brings together humanities and social scientific approaches to ensure better radiological protection as called forth by the Society of Radiological Protection in 2019.\n\"In the collective effort at bringing about a strategic research agenda for the social sciences and humanities in radiological protection in 2019, the Society for Radiological Protection called for ways to “develop avenues for systemic collaboration […] between technical and non-technical communities” and explore the “interrelation between behavior, perception of risks, economic aspects, knowledge, culture, historical memory” (Perko et al. 2, 7).\" \nSource: Perko, Tanja Van, et al. “Towards a Strategic Research Agenda for Social Sciences and Humanities in Radiological Protection.” Journal of Radiological Protection 39 (2019): 766-84.\n\n - Brandon Costelloe-Kuehn'
