Historic disadvantage refers to historic patterns of insitutionalizaed and other forms of systemic discrimination such as legal, social, political, culturla, ehtnic, religious and economic discrimination, as well as discrimination in employment. The concept also refers to discrimination and under-representation experienced by disadvantaged groups such as LGBTQ+ groups, women, Aboriginal peoples, persons with disabilities, and racialized people.
