Critical Commentary
This is an artwork created by the Naluwan people. Seems to me that it's a statue of a person pointing in a specific direction. I'm not sure if the person is pointing toward the sea. In the statue's left arm, it is holding what seems to be a fish. Does this represent their primary job in the past – fishing? The statue looks strong and muscular, standing in a certain manner.
Standing by the statue's side is a dog, which may possibly be her pet and/or guide. What is the reason for this artwork? I think I should ask the tribe one day, they'll be able to tell me more about this statue.
- What exactly is it pointing towards?
- What are their current jobs if not fishing?
- Why this artwork?
- Who created this artwork?
