State Judge Remy Chaisson dismissed the South LA Port Commission as a defendent in a lawsuit brought forth by Save Our Wetlands that is seeking to block construction of Formosa's proposed rayon plant. Group claims that Port Commission conspired with parish officials to expropriate land needed for the pier that the commission has already promised to Formosa. Lester Millet and nine councilmen are also named as defendants. Chaisson agreed with Port Commission attorneys that the commission had little to do with the controversial rezoning, which prompted the suit.
