The goal of the 2017 workshops was to prepare and inform attendees about the risks and solutions associated with heat so that they may be equipped with the information and tools necessary to reduce the potential effects on their health, home, and community.
Three workshops ran in total during the summer of 2017 – on June 28th at the West Philadelphia Senior Community Center, July 12th at the South Philadelphia Free Library, and August 2nd at the McPherson Public Library in Kensington. Out of the three workshops, the WPSCC had the most amount of participants with the most limited time constraint. The average workshop run time was 2 hours.
