The largest wildfire to occur in the history of California took place in August at Mendocino County, during the year of 2020, giving it the name “August Complex”. While there were no civilian fatalities, the event still had devastating outcomes, with the death of one firefighter and serious injuries to two others, in addition to nine hundred structures being destroyed. The fire was ignited through a combination of thirty seven separate fires that were sparked by lightning.
