Critical Commentary

This text was published two years after the “start” of the Formosa Environmental Disaster in Vietnam’s Central Coast. Related texts within the journal of Environmental Hazards have highlighted causes of natural and man-made disasters (Gaillard, 2007), the importance of incorporating indiengenous knowledge in reducing climate vulnerabilities (Mercer, 2007), and approaches to disaster and environmental management (Tran, 2007).
