Critical Commentary

Pipe Down: Examining the Speech-Suppressing Effect of Critical Infrastructure Statues articulates the legal challenges and consitutionality of the Lousiana Critical Infustructure law; revised section 14:61 apart of Act No. 692 for the HB No. 727. The article reviews the consitutional principles when reviewing a legislative peice and challenging it under the first amendment, the theories involved, pervious standardizing cases, and the constitutional framework in which judgement is made. The article mainly argues for a overturn of the section arguing that it distorts publicly avalible speech, diminishes self-realization, and is discriminatorily motivated. This peice is apart of a bundle presenting legal limitations and structural impediments presented by the legislative branch of Lousiana and legal system that reinforce the discriminatory practices as it regards to the environment and environmental activism.
