Critical Commentary
This is a close up of the town of Corcoran from a map that shows land ownership, reclamation districts, and levees in the area around the Tulare Lake Basin in 1938. You can see the land owned by Boswell immediately to the south and west of town, including the land that would become the site of the Corcoran State prison (owned by Boswell and the State of California at the very bottom of the image).
