Critical Commentary

This youtube video, produced by Earthworks, uses infared cameras and other filters to visualize otherwise invisible clouds of pollution. This provides an intriguing look at Austin Energy's Decker Creek Power Station, a city-owned power plant that runs on natural gas. The video includes a overview of the plant and it's location in relation to the city and to surrounding area. It then shows a view of the plant's emissions with various filters, which present the viewer with a more composite picture of these emissions. The viewer's understanding of what they are looking at, however, is hampered by the lack of commentary or explanation.

See this video, which explains Earthwork's Citizen Empowerment Project, provides helpful context.
