Relating-with-Hawai’i under the duress of the violent histories of Colonialism, Militarism and Environmental injustice (CMEiJ) in Hawai’i is indeed, parasitical. The 4S 2023 para-conference aims to create a parallel-site to the main conference to generate a critical cultural project of solidarity. Here, an interested 2023 4S annual conference participant will interpret their proposed research paper or project on any topic of CMEiJ, in relation with the matters of concern at Hawai’i.
To participate, you will para-site your research in three 90-minute long collaborative workshops between August and October, and present it through posters. You know more about para-siting your research in this project description.
You will need to put in considerable care and effort to be a part of the para-conference. Please keep in mind that resources are limited and that you should only check the below box if you can commit to para-site your research (about 15 hours of work), attending to Hawai’i’s matters of concern. We will reach out to you by June 30, 2023 about the status of your application.
