When was the organization founded, what was the founding purpose, what were its modes of support, and what was its early structure?

The California EJ Alliance (CEJA) was founded in 2001. It represents a coalition of four grassroots environmental justice organizations in California; the Asian Pacific Environmental Network, the Center on Race Poverty and the Environment, Communities for a Better Environment, and the Environmental Health Coalition. Together, they have worked to unite the voices of member organizations and collectively push for systemic change.
